Advanced Search and Bulk Actions
Advanced search options help to narrow the scope of search queries by applying filters. Raven Tracker already provides predefined search filters such as Recent Cash Sheets, Submitted Wage Sheets, New Employees, Unprocessed Files, Unpaid Invoices, and many more. However there will be times when users want to search for data beyond the scope of these predefined search filters.
This release introduces Advanced Search options for Cash Sheets. This is a relatively simple introduction, in that it enables you to quickly find a collection of cash sheets between a start and end date.
From the search result list, accountant users can perform actions in bulk. For example, you can verify many cash sheets, or unlock many cash sheets, all at once.
The Bulk Action panel includes the following options:
- Export Cash Sheets
- Mark as Processed
- Mark as Verified
- Unlock Processed
- Unlock Verified
- Unlock for Client
Accountant users can select cash sheets one at a time by clicking the checkbox next to each sheet. Alternatively, there is a master checkbox at the top of the search result list, and clicking this selects every cash sheet on the page.
The real power here is the ability to select all the cash sheets within a range, then for example you can export them using the new Sales Journal (see below), even before the cash sheets have been verified, useful for quickly compiling draft accounts.
New Cash Sheet Journals for Making Tax Digital (MTD)
Making Tax Digital (MTD) is a key part of the UK government’s plans to modernise the tax system. Businesses with a taxable turnover above the VAT threshold of £85,000 are now required to file their VAT returns electronically and are obligated to keep digital records of their transactions.
Owners and managers of pubs, clubs, restaurants and hotels must keep a digital record of their Daily Gross Takings (DGT). Raven Tracker already features a Cash Sheet Daily Journal complaint with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements, where all sales and purchases are filed using daily figures.
This release adds a new Sales Journal and an Expenses Journal, separating sales and expense lines from the Daily Journal into individual journals. This simplifies reporting for Making Tax Digital (MTD), enabling accountants to collate just the data needed.
An Overview of Making Tax Digital (MTD) is available on the HMRC website.
